Joseph (John) Merrick lived in England from 1862-1890. Merrick was born with a congenital disease which created abnormal and excessive bone growth on his skull and some of his limbs. Because he was not able to obtain work elsewhere, Merrick ended up in a circus sideshow where he earned a living being a living curiosity and was given the name "The Elephant Man".

Most people know the rest of the story from the 1980 movie, "The Elephant Man"

Did Michael Jackson Buy the Elephant Man's Bones?

In 1987, news reports all over the world announced that singer Michael Jackson had submitted an offer to purchase the remains of Joseph (John) Merrick, also known as the Elephant Man. At the time, this news was just one more bizarre fact in the life that was Michael Jackson's. Jackson was reportedly sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber to extend his life, invented and patented anti-gravity boots and traveled around with a chimpanzee. Buying the famous Elephant Man's bones did not seem to be out of the realm of possibility.

According to London Hospital spokespeople, Michael Jackson became fascinated with the story of the Elephant Man when the Broadway play based on Merrick's life debuted in 1979, followed by the movie "The Elephant Man" in 1980. Jackson reportedly showed up at the hospital in 1982 and again in 1985 to view the remains.

Merrick's bones were kept in the hospital's Pathology Museum for viewing only by professionals and students

The Virgin and Child with St Anne and St John the Baptist

I think this is my favorite piece of art. It is know as Da Vinci's Cartoon and hangs in the National Gallery in London.

In 1987 someone came into the gallery and shot the painting with a shot gun! Luckily the museum was able to repair it to almost exactly how it looked before the attack....

In the future the clothes will be more simply and more function.

I think about Hi-Technology clothes like the clothes in Ultraviolet movie. The main actress wear the simply cloth but she can change the color and the style anytime. Because the main reason of cloth is protection your body.

If I could go back in time, I prefer the time that Thai people ware tank top and loincloth because it’s proper with Thailand weather and we are not follow the other country style.

Have you ever known David Blaine?

I have never known him before. I have watched one guy in TY show about endurance in the water but I’m not sure is that he or not. I did some research about him. He is a famous illusionist and endurance artist. The best of him is about his high-profile feats of endurance and a performer of street and close-up magic. I really like his street magic. It’s very fantastic. How dose he do? And why I never know when he did a trick. Sometime I found after I backward the clip but many time I still don’t know what dose he do. His famous make some guys made the joke clips. I can not stop laughing when I saw them. I found them when I did the research (unexpectedly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYxu_MQSTTY ^0^

The best painter is Vincent van Gogh.

There are many great painters in the world. I think the best painter is Vincent van Gogh. His painting saw about the normal or abnormal and reality or unreal.

This painting is in the period of Nederland. The painting is simple but we can see the people feel so hard about their life.

That painting is period of Paris. His painting is more simple but the color is more bright.

His painting has powerful color and harsh touch like his life.

My favorite piece of art.

My favorite artist is Leonado da Vinci . He not only the painter but he is a scientist , astronomer , architect , inventor , geologist , anatomist , engineer and writer too . He only my favorite painter too , because he is the first painter I have know .

I like his masterpiece of painting that very famous , The last supper . Actually , I like it because I read a novel of Dan Brown . The novel names The Da Vinci Code . It's talk about the mystery of this painting . The painting represents the last meal shared by Jesus with his disciples before his capture and death. It shows specifically the moment when Jesus has said "one of you will betray me". The book said , you will see the mystery hand that carring a knife behind the back of one of his disciple , don't know who is . And the person who is sitting next to Jesus not a man . Because she look like woman . She may be Jesus's wife , Mary Magdalene .

I don't think this story is true but I love the writer's imagination . I think Da Vinci use all the details that can present each of Jesus 's disciple very well . It's make this painting more interesting. So, I never see the original because the painting is on the wall of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan . If I have a chance to go to Italy , I will go to see it .

My clothing in the future.

In my future i think this brand. It's Giordano,Because it's famous in my country and another country. It's Jeans,T-shirt,Glasses and etc.Jeans and T-shirt it's comfortable and good-looking.
When we go to shopping mall.

My mobile phone is my most important gadget

I think nowadays, mobile phone is an important gadget for people. For me, I have to take them to anywhere that I go. Because my parents always worry about where am I, when will I come home, and am I ok by checking on phone. And I use it for keep in touch with my lover and my friends. Finally, for working, my work is about computer so sometime I have to stand by for work all day outside the office. That why the mobile phone is easy to contact. In the future I would like to buy iPhone 4 because I don’t want to take mobile phone, laptop, and talking dictionary in the same time. They are too many. ^^

Global warming we need comfortable clothes.Fashion in the future. I think people still wearing jean and T-shirt beacause it's very comfortable. Maybe we will change new design of jean and T-shirt made it match with the weather.

My favorite piece of art

First of all, I have not deep knowledge of art and I have no particularly favorite artist. But I want to share my idea as homework for my English class.

My most impressive museum I have ever visited is “Picasso Museum, Barcelona or Madrid, Spain.” We can see his art from his early stage to later years (well known, his original art). Fortunately or unfortunately I didn't know his history of paint style when I visited there. I was so impressed the way how to get his original art.

My favorite museum is the Hakone Open-Air Museum, Hakone, Japan and The Utsukushi-ga-hara Open-Air Museum, Nagano, Japan. They owned by same company or foundation. So, the style of museums are nearly same. They are located in wide mountain area. The architects and nature are lived together. I really enjoyed unique architects with large green space and clear atmosphere. There is a lot of fun for kids, too.

Finally, I would like to introduce you my favorite photographer “Elliott Erwitte”. He is member of Magnum (famous organization for photo). He took a lot of famous portraits (ex Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Grace Kerry) , photos for advertisement and movies (I have not known them).

When I saw his photos in the magazine, I got big inspirations. I bought his photo collections and I visited gallery for his exhibition. His photos have a lot of irony, love and humor so it makes me small smiles.

My favorit artist

My favorit artist is Picasso.Do you know Picasso?I think so! Because he is one of the most famous artist all over the world.

His works always make me emotional and sometimes I am moved to tears.

When I was exhausted by working hard,I used to visit OHARA MUSIAM in Japan. It has many famous works such as "The Annunciation" by El Greco. But somehow,it was always Picasso to make me released from real life.

I have a big memory about Picasso. When I was a junior high school student,I made a copy of "Guernika" with my classmates."Guernika" is a very big painting- It is 349.3*776.6cm.And our copy was just as big as the original !

Currently at the Sompo Gallery, Tokyo - but is it a fake?

On March 31, 1987, even those without interest in art were made aware of van Gogh's Sunflowers series when Japanese insurance magnate Yasuo Goto paid the equivalent of US $39,921,750 for Van Gogh's Still Life: Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers at auction at Christie's London, at the time a record-setting amount for a work of art.[14] The price was over four times the previous record of about $12 million paid for Andrea Mantegna's Adoration of the Magi in 1985. The record was broken a few months later with the purchase of another Van Gogh, Irises, by Alan Bond for $53.9 million at Sotheby's, New York on November 11, 1987.

While it is uncertain whether Yasuo Goto bought the painting himself or on behalf of his company, the Yasuda Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Japan, the painting currently resides at Seiji Togo Yasuda Memorial Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. After the purchase, a controversy arose whether this is a genuine van Gogh or an Emile Schuffenecker forgery.

What is your favorite work of art?

Only in Japan?

A pair of jeans that really fits is rare to come by. But these are the rarest and most expensive jeans in the world, produced by Levi’s. These jeans, embellished with gold, diamonds and rubies, were offered as a prize in a 2003 contest. They are valued at around $85,000. But according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the most valuable pair of jeans is one original pair of from Levi Strauss & Co 501, over 115 years old, sold in Japan for $60,000.

A dream that used to have,it never predicted the future. I just ever had a good and bad dream. But the deam never came true.If a dream could be having an actual predition ,I wish only having a good dream to become true.

I used to believe in a forfune-teller as I was curious about what it would be happenning to my life. But later I have never believe in it anymore because what I was told of my future , it never happened.

Harry Houdini

Harry Houdini was a magician, stunt performer, actor and film producer.

He influenced all faces of magic in America.

He was admired as the greatest escape artist in the world.

Let me tell you about one of his most popular stunts.

First,he wore a straitjaket which could't take off easily.

And,he was suspended by his ankles from a tall building or crane.

After flinging his body in the air,he escaped from the straitjacket.

It took just two minutes and thirty-seven seconds to take off his straitjacket.

Fortune-teller

I have ever had my fortune-told. I went there with my mother only one time. I have not had a dream that predict my future. I believe in fortune-telling sometime. The reason to make me believe is that went I was young my older sister went to fortune-teller with my mother and fortune-teller predicted that my older sister will get married with old man and three years ago she got married with old man. And the reason that make me don't believe is that fortune-teller told me that I will get luck in the future but until now it never happens.

Octopus predicts Spain will beat Germany.

Who do you think will win? P.S. I am not planning to stay up all night to watch :)

I never have my own fortune telling because I think people should think and do everything by themself or ask somebody who can give your good advice . May be your family , friends or teacher. Doing everything follow the fortune telling not my style . It's OK. if you just listen and think about how possibility it can be , after that you can think about how carefully you want for the forecast.

I not sure that I ever had a predictable dream because I can't remember the dream when I wake up if the dream is not important . But before something bad happen to me , its always have a prophetic sign .

Last week my pet died on Thursday's morning . I'm not sure any body remember that but if you think about our class on last Wednesday , you will understand . In that class we studied with Phill and he gave us a exercise paper sheet . Look at the end of the paper , Do you see the sentence before the last sentence ? It's said " My dog died yesterday " . That the first sign . The next sign is when the class nearly to finished , Phill let us make a topic to talk , Do you know the topic I told him? The topic I told him is ' pet' . I don't know why I should this topic , I just think about it that time . Now , I'm still sad because I love my pet very much .

Do dreams have a meaning...

In my life I had many dreams but I write about only two....
The first dream,I and my family we went walk in to the temple to pray and have somebody told me I have to bring flowers, foods to a place to pray I could see the place but I couldn't see the person who told!!!Anyway The next I went to that place and it was the same as in my dream but I never been there in my life.

In another dream,Somebody try to wake me up to tell me that my daughter didn't come to the class. 10 min after I wake up my daughter's teacher call me on phone and told me my daughter didn't come to the class.,,.

Does anybody have similar experience?
